CH & Sons believes that safety and our business go hand-in-hand. Our written Accident Prevention Program and management leadership make a difference!

At CH & Sons, we believe that the prevention of accidents is our moral obligation and it is just good business. Our safety efforts are based on the belief that every working person is entitled to a work environment that is safe and healthy. The responsibility for the health and safety of our employees is more than compliance with the federal and state regulatory requirements. We recognize that the protection of our employees, property, the public, and the environment are essential to the efficient and successful completion of every construction project we undertake. Safety is more than a priority at CH & Sons. Our commitment to safety is a core company value.

CH & Sons has established an award-winning Accident Prevention Program that includes formal safety training, inspections, audits, and a formalized system of reporting. We acknowledge that accident prevention is a line management responsibility. The responsibility is shared at every level of our organization, from the president to our craft work force. Our managers, supervisors and employees are trained to identify and correct unsafe conditions, and more important, unsafe work practices.

Our branch and project management teams conduct our Accident Prevention Program at the branch and project levels. The company also has the support of a full-time Safety Manager, who reports directly to the Profit Center Manager. At the corporate level, our program has oversight and management from a full-time Safety Director and an Operations Safety Manager.

We believe that our accident prevention efforts should have the same value as quality, morale, cost, schedule, and production. Safety is not in addition to our work. Safety is how we do our work.

At CH & Sons, we believe that accidents should be unusual and uncommon events and that most accidents are preventable. Our goal continues to be ZERO ACCIDENTS.
